Frequently Asked Questions

We've Got Answers

Choosing home care is a big decision. Here are the questions families ask us most — answered honestly and clearly.

Getting Started

Signs that home care may help include difficulty with daily tasks like meal preparation; increased isolation or loneliness; missed medications; recent falls or safety concerns at home; or a family caregiver who is feeling overwhelmed. If you're unsure, our free consultation is a great first step — we'll listen and help you figure out what level of support makes sense.

Simply reach out to us by phone or through our contact form. We'll schedule a free, no-obligation consultation — either in person or by phone — where we learn about your loved one's needs, answer your questions, and walk you through the process. From there, we build a personalized care plan and match you with the right caregiver.

In many cases, we can begin care within 24 to 48 hours of your initial consultation. For urgent situations, we do our best to accommodate same-day or next-day starts. Contact us and we'll work with your timeline.

Yes — always. Our initial consultation is completely free and comes with zero pressure or obligation. It's simply a conversation where we listen to your family's needs and help you understand your options.

Our Services

We provide non-medical in-home care including companion care, personal assistance, respite care for family caregivers, light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, transportation, and errand assistance. Visit our Services page for a full breakdown of everything we offer.

No — we are a non-medical home care agency. Our caregivers do not administer medications, perform medical procedures, or provide clinical nursing services. For medical home health needs, we are happy to help connect you with appropriate licensed providers in the Ocala area.

We offer flexible scheduling to fit your family's needs. Whether you need a few hours of companionship each week or full daily support, we can accommodate you. We'll discuss scheduling options during your consultation.

Yes. We offer overnight care and can arrange extended or around-the-clock coverage for clients who need more continuous support. Contact us to discuss your specific situation and we'll find the right arrangement.

Caregivers & Safety

Every caregiver goes through a thorough hiring process that includes a comprehensive background check, reference verification, and in-person interviews. They receive orientation training covering safety, client dignity, emergency procedures, and our care standards. We also provide ongoing training and supervision to ensure consistent, high-quality care.

Our caregivers are employees of The 2 of Us Non-Medical Homecare, Homemaker & Companion Services LLC — not independent contractors. This means they are covered by our liability insurance and workers' compensation, and we handle all payroll taxes and compliance. You have the peace of mind of working with a fully insured, professionally managed team.

We do our best to provide consistency by assigning a primary caregiver to each client. We understand how important familiarity and trust are, especially for seniors. In cases of illness or scheduling conflicts, we always introduce backup caregivers in advance so there are no surprises.

Your satisfaction is our priority. If a caregiver isn't the right fit for any reason, just let us know and we'll work quickly to find a better match. We take all feedback seriously and want every client to feel completely comfortable with their care team.

Costs & Coverage

Costs vary depending on the type of care, number of hours, and frequency of visits. We provide transparent, personalized pricing during your free consultation — no hidden fees. We'll work with your budget to find a care plan that fits.

Traditional Medicare generally does not cover non-medical companion or personal care services. However, some Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid waiver programs, and long-term care insurance policies may provide coverage. We can help you explore your options and understand what may be available to your family.

Yes. We work with many long-term care insurance policies and can assist with the documentation and billing process. Bring your policy information to your consultation and we'll help you understand your benefits.

No long-term contracts are required. We believe care should be flexible and family-driven. You can adjust, pause, or discontinue services as your needs change — we just ask for reasonable advance notice so we can plan accordingly.

Service Area

We proudly serve Ocala and the surrounding Marion County communities, including Belleview, Silver Springs, Dunnellon, Summerfield, and nearby areas. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, give us a call — we're happy to check.

Yes. Our caregivers can provide companion care and personal assistance to clients who reside in assisted living communities, memory care facilities, or rehabilitation centers — not just private homes. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
